Traffic Infractions

Just about everyone has gotten a speeding ticket.  Traffic infractions in Clark County, Washington and Multnomah County, Oregon are handled for a flat fee, depending on where the ticket was received.  Traffic infractions in other counties are handled on a case by case basis only. 

In Washington to date, we have been very successful in getting traffic infractions dismissed or deferred.  A dismissal effectively removes the traffic infraction from your driving record.  A deferral is a county service that is sometimes available to drivers which allows them to defer their sentence for one year.  If they do not have any further infractions within that year, the original infraction is dismissed.

In Oregon, we have been extremely successful in obtaining agreements to attend classes in lieu of a committed finding on infractions.

Arguments made in Washington are procedural in nature.  Contested hearings will not need to be attended by the violator in either Oregon or Washington, unless they hear otherwise.

Fees are as follows:

•      Clackamas County - $400 flat fee to plead/negotiate; $650 flat fee to proceed to trial
•      Clark County : Camas/Battleground - $400 flat fee
•      Clark County : Vancouver - $200 flat fee
•      Multnomah County - $300 flat fee to plead/negotiate; or $550 flat fee to attend trial
•      Washington County - $400 flat fee to plead/negotiate; or $650 flat fee to attend trial
